RugbyFest is a unique event – a festival of rugby football based in the game’s birthplace. When William Webb Ellis ran with the ball on the playing field at Rugby School in 1823 it led the school to develop its own unique set of rules, which have since developed into the global game we know today.
When a group of former players approached us in the early stages of planning RugbyFest, it was clear they were serious about putting together an event that would work as an ongoing business concern, driven by their love for the game. This is a celebration of rugby in all its forms for both genders and all age groups, including variations like sevens and wheelchair rugby.
With a charity legends match taking place on the playing field where the game was born with the stunning Rugby School buildings as a backdrop, RugbyFest is a great reason for fans to make the pilgrimage to the town of Rugby. It’s a chance to meet up with friends old and new, and celebrate the camaraderie and respect that binds together those who love the game.
Our first task was to create the RugbyFest logo. It incorporates the classic oval ball shape and uses vibrant colours to reflect the energy and diversity of the event. We also designed the logo in a way that makes it possible for it to be presented in animated form for use on big screens at the event. The logo also fits into a square area, making it ideal for use on social media profiles.
We’ve since created the RugbyFest website and a raft of promotional literature aimed at potential sponsors and partners. With both our designs and copy we are presenting RugbyFest as an exciting contemporary event rooted in the rich history of the game.
Expect to see a lot more from RugbyFest over the coming months.
