Rugby DRIVE is an initiative started by a group of businesses and other organisations, all of whom have an interest in boosting the local economy in and around the town of Rugby, Warwickshire.
As one of the founders, CC Ltd has been involved right from the start as the plan evolved from an idea to a fully-realised project. We coined the name Rugby DRIVE, with the acronym standing for “Developing Rugby – Innovation, Vision and Enterprise”.
For the logo, we didn’t want to use references to the game of rugby, because ball and goalpost shapes are already used on several logos. We also wanted to make sure the logo didn’t look like that of any other prominent local organisation.
Historically, Rugby was the location for some of the development work on the original jet engine. This fact has been an influence on the final logo design, which is intended to convey the impression of aiming high, taking off and going upwards.
Ironically, our designer Emma has never been quite sure about this logo or its distinctive blend of colours, but everyone involved in Rugby DRIVE and many people who came to the launch event have told us they really like it!
CC Ltd has also designed and made the Rugby DRIVE website and literature.
